Lost Art Press Chore Coat
The Lost Art Press Chore coat is an American-made shop jacket that is based closely on French coats worn by woodworkers during the 20th century.Constructed of soft, durable and breathable cotton fabric, our chore coat features reinforced pockets, custom buttons (that are debossed with Lost Art Press) and an embroidered interior pocket featuring our skep logo.
Designed by woodworker Tom Bonamici, the chore coat is designed for shop work and is nice enough to wear to a restaurant. It moves easily when planing and sawing and has room in its pockets for a variety of small tools.
This is a three-season jacket and is designed to be worn over a single layer of clothing (order one size larger if you wish to layer a sweater under it). The jacket is available in sizes small, medium, large, extra large and XXL. (For more on sizing, please read this. To read more on the history of this coat, read this.)
Because of the very tight margins on this coat and the fact that we are not a high-volume clothing maker, these jackets can be returned within 30 days. (If there is a defect in manufacturing, you can return it at anytime, of course.)The jackets are dry-clean only. Most woodworkers just dust it off and wear it forever – like a motorcycle jacket.
One final note: We don’t know if we will offer this jacket again. If we do offer it again, it will be more expensive.
