Hobbit-y Chair Patterns & Construction Instructions
Paper patterns mailed to you + a pdf download
This chair from Issue 2 of The Stick Chair Journal is inspired by a prop from “The Fellowship of the Ring.” It combines elements of British and Germanic forms into a chair (actually, a backstool) that is perfect for the hearth and telling tall tales.
When you order this product, we will mail you full-size patterns printed on an 36" x 24 sheet of paper. These are ideal for adhering to thin plywood or hardboard to make permanent patterns. The patterns include locations for joinery and the chair's decorative shapes.
You'll also receive a pdf download of the original article from Issue 2 of The Stick Chair Journal. The article includes the cutting list, all the angles needed and instructions for making the chair with basic tools.
Note that you will find "The Stick Chair Book: 2nd Revised Edition" (a free pdf donload) an excellent companion when building this chair.
